What is it? A kitchen tool used to core, peel and slice a pineapple.
Normally, to cut a pineapple, you use a knife to remove its outer rind, remove the core, and then slice it to the desired thickness. This approach often results in pineapple slices that are uneven, instead of the attractive round ones found in canned pineapple. This product works from the inside of the pineapple, instead of from the outside, producing round slices.
The product consists of a plastic “coring tool”. To use it, you chop the top off of a pineapple, and then use the product to drill down inside it, effectively creating a long pineapple ringlet. Depending on how fresh or ripe your pineapple is has a bearing on how much force is needed to cut all the way to the bottom.
When you’ve reached the bottom of the pineapple, you pull out the cored fruit, remove the handle from the product, and slide off the sliced pineapple (see video). That’s really all there is to it.
This product works as advertised.
