What is it? An epoxy bonding agent in putty form.
This product features a very powerful epoxy sealant and bonding agent. As opposed to the liquid forms (Epoxy A and Epoxy B) that have to be stirred together and usually make a big mess and is awkward to work with, this product comes in a putty form with the two agents separated into layers, an inner section and outer layer, and is fairly easy to work with.
To activate the epoxy, you cut off a portion of the putty stick that you need, and then knead it together like dough until it forms a uniform gray color. Recommended mixing time is two minutes.
When the putty is mixed you apply it manually where needed. In our evaluations we used it to first repair a broken coffee cup (see video). This turned into an “art project” whereby multiple broken pieces were puzzled back together and the product was used to cement it. As pieces were pressed together, excess putty could be wiped off. Our repair was a success, even if our art work might be subject to a little criticism.
Our next evaluation was to recreate one of the demonstrations from the vendor infomercial—specifically, where we drilled a hole in a plastic glass and then filled it with water, causing a spouting leak. We used the product to plug the leak. It worked. The water didn’t wash the putty away or dislodge it. With a little smoothing, the leak was fully contained. This could be very helpful with leaky plumbing, adhering to both metal and PVC.
We didn’t recreate any of the load bearing tests from the infomercial, and therefore make no claims with respect to the product’s tensile strength. It initially hardens in about 30-40 minutes. The instructions advise that the product isn’t fully cured for 24 hours, so take that into consideration if used on anything bearing weight.
From our observations we found this product to work as advertised.
